Terms of service

Last updated August 3, 2026

These terms govern your use of Fambrain — the app, the website at fambrain.ai, and related services. By creating an account or using Fambrain, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

The service

Fambrain is a shared family command center: a calendar, chore and routine tracker, meal planner, and shared lists for a household, synced across phones, tablets, and browsers, with an optional always-on wall-display mode.

Accounts and family profiles

  • Accounts are for adults (18+, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). The adult who creates a family is responsible for its members and for the profiles they create.
  • Child profiles are display labels — a name, an emoji, and a color — created and managed by a parent or guardian. They are not accounts, and children may not register or sign in.
  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for activity under your account. Only invite people you trust to your family — members can see and edit the family’s shared content.
  • Provide accurate information when signing up, and keep your email address current so we can reach you about the service.

The one-time unlock

  • The core of Fambrain— calendar, chores, lists, meals, realtime sync, and wall display — is free. A single one-time purchase (the “unlock”, $9.99 or the local price shown at purchase) adds the power tier, such as external calendar sync and star-jar rewards.
  • The unlock is per family, not per person or per device: one adult buys it once, and every member and device of that family is unlocked. It is not a subscription — there are no recurring charges for the unlock tier.
  • Purchases on iOS and Android are processed by the app stores and are subject to their payment terms. Restore and refunds follow the applicable store’s policies.
  • We may change what the free tier and the unlock tier include in the future, but a purchase you have already made will not be taken away or converted into a subscription.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Fambrain for anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive;
  • attempt to access another family’s data, probe or disrupt the service, or bypass security or entitlement controls;
  • upload content you have no right to share, or content that is defamatory, harassing, or exploitative — especially involving children;
  • misrepresent who you are, or create accounts for children contrary to these terms;
  • resell, scrape, or commercially exploit the service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

Your content

Your family’s content — events, tasks, lists, meals, profile labels — belongs to you. You grant us only the limited license needed to store, sync, and display it back to your family across your devices. We don’t claim ownership of it, and we don’t use it for advertising or model training. You can export or delete it as described in our privacy policy.

Third-party services

Optional features rely on third parties — Google Calendar sync, weather from MET Norway, push delivery via Apple/Google, and app-store billing. Your use of those features is also subject to the third party’s own terms (for Google Calendar, Google’s API Services User Data Policy). We are not responsible for third-party services’ availability or behavior.

Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee

Notifications and wall-display information depend on your devices, network, and push providers. Fambrain is a household organizer — do not rely on it as the sole reminder for anything where a missed notification could cause harm (for example medication, medical appointments, or safety-critical schedules).

Disclaimer of warranties

Fambrainis provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost, though we design for reliability and keep backups.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or missed events, arising from your use of Fambrain. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or, if you paid nothing, USD $50). Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Termination

You can stop using Fambrainand delete your family account at any time from Settings — this deletes your family’s data as described in the privacy policy. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms, with notice where practicable.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or an in-app notice before they take effect, and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
